Ethics and Disclosures

The International Journal of Destinations and Hospitality Insights (IJODHI) is a scholarly, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing research and innovation in the fields of tourism, destination management, and hospitality.


Peer Review:

  • Double-blind peer review process.
  • Review criteria: relevance, soundness, originality, readability, and language.
  • Possible decisions: accept, accept with revisions, or reject.

Author Responsibilities:

  • Original work, not previously published elsewhere.
  • Participate in peer review and address reviewer comments.
  • Ensure data accuracy, authorship contribution, and conflict of interest disclosure.
  • Report errors in published papers.

Reviewer Responsibilities:

  • Confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Constructive criticism with supporting arguments.
  • Identify relevant unpublished work and potential overlap.
  • Declare conflicts of interest.

Editor Responsibilities:

  • Final decision on article acceptance/rejection.
  • Ensure content quality and academic integrity.
  • Publish corrections and errata.
  • Manage conflicts of interest.
  • Anonymize reviewers.
  • Uphold ethical research guidelines.
  • Investigate misconduct allegations.

Plagiarism Policy:

  • Submitted papers are screened for plagiarism using multiple means
  • If self-checked, similarity level below 10% is required.
  • Different forms of plagiarism are defined and addressed.
  • Self-plagiarism (text recycling) is not allowed.

Research Ethics:

  • Authors must comply with local and governmental regulations for human subject research.
  • Ethical principles include minimizing harm, informed consent, and following relevant guidelines.
  • Authors are responsible for ethical conduct and providing evidence of compliance.

Open Access Policy:

  • Articles are freely available to the public.

Archiving:

  • The journal uses a system for permanent archiving.

Withdrawal Policy:

  • Withdrawal during peer review incurs a fee.
  • Withdrawal after acceptance incurs a higher fee.
  • Repeated withdrawal may lead to blacklisting.

Article Retraction:

  • For misconduct, errors, or at the editor’s discretion.
  • Retracted articles are watermarked and notices are published.
  • HTML and other versions are removed.

Copyright and Retraction:

  • Author copyright does not automatically grant retraction rights.
  • Maintaining the scientific record is paramount.
